Sight Words

Dear Kindergarten Parents,
"Sight words" are important in helping your child become a successful reader. Sight words are words they should be able to recognize by sight. Below is a list of sight words I have introduced to your child. Please take some time each night to practice these words with your child. Feel free to color code them, use flash cards, etc. Some of the ways we practice these words in school are: by clapping and spelling out the words, putting them in alphabetical order, playing card games, making up cheers, using them in sentences, and finding them in our everyday text and poetry. Have fun and remember to keep practicing! :)
